The Freestanding grills, also referred to as cart-mounted or cart grills, offer the same benefits of a built-in gas grills but with added mobility. Freestanding grills are perfect for hosting the party in different spots of your yard, moving it out of the elements for the winter, or just because that is all you ever wanted from your grill. Freestanding gas grills usually come with two foldable, or non-foldable, side shelves, a stainless steel cart with four heavy duty casters (some offer brakes), and in most cases to add a bit of convenience, a sliding tray under the cart for a liquid propane bottle.

On high end gas grills, such as Alfresco and Twin Eagles, you’ll notice that the manufacturer usually offers two different cart styles: standard and deluxe.  The standard cart base simply features two double access doors with storage under the cart while the deluxe cart base features a door on one side for a propane tank or trash can and two storage drawers on the other side for wood chips, rotisserie accessories and a place to store your grill cover (usually grill covers are an optional add-on when purchasing).
